 Achievements

• Negotiated and signed a grant for a new GSM licence in the Republic of Benin at a cost of USD 60 million
• Managed M&A, legal due diligence and documentation of a deal involving the acquisition of shares in a telecom company in Nigeria at a cost of USD 268 million
• Advised on a club deal loan agreement worth USD 250 million for Etisalat OpCos in West Africa
• Managed the listing of a Global Medium Term Note (MTN) Programme worth USD 7 Billion in the London Stock Exchange
• Managed a proposed restructuring/reorganization of Atlantique Telecom, the largest Etisalat OpCos in West Africa
• Advised a real estate developer in Kenya on a transaction worth USD 25 million
• Planned and managed the Annual Group Legal Forum for Etisalat Group 2012 whose theme was “Next Generation Telecom Legal Issues”
• Acted as the Process Partner for the Group Legal Department in developing Process Decision Rights for Etisalat Group
• Advised a company in Kenya on re-organization and incorporation of a holding company in the UAE
• Negotiated Heads of Terms, Branding & Management Agreement, Group Services and Benefits & Hotel Specific Services Agreement, and Trade Mark Licence Agreement on behalf of a client in Kenya. The value of the transaction being over USD 25 million
• Acted as Joint Secretary in a Taskforce appointed by the Cabinet Secretary for Mining Hon. Najib Balala to advise on issues surrounding mining at Kishushe Area in Taita Taveta County
• I chair the Board Audit & Risk Committees of Absa Securities Limited (formerly Barclays Financial Services Ltd and Absa Bank Insurance Agency Limited (formerly Barclays Bank Insurance Agency Ltd)
