Agreement with European Investment Bank to Finance Ariab Gold Mining Company
This agreement is between the Government of Sudan and European Investment Bank to Finance the Ariab Mining Company in eastern Sudan where gold was discovered. The surveys revealed that it could be in economic quantities. The EIB financed the company with favorable terms.
Agreement with Islamic Development Bank to finance Port Sudan Airport
This is an agreement with the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah in which it financed the construction of the new Port Sudan Air Port. This involved lengthy negotiations on the terms of the loan and selection of Contractors.
Agreement with Japanese International Aid Agency for the rehabilitation of Sudan Telephone and Postal Corporation
This was a big project, before the privatization of the telecom sector in Sudan. An agreement was concluded with JAICA to finance the rehabilitation of the then Sudan Telephone and Postal Corporation as part of the Japanese Aid to Sudan. It also involved agreement with Japanese companies to execute the planned rehabilitation. The execution of the project took two years to complete.
